Seriously...
I mean, how COOL are these clothes? The designs are awesome, plus the fabric is super soft to the touch. I kept trying to figure out a way to fit into one of the t-shirts... don't think it would work, but if they came in my size, you know I'd be rocking these. My little nephew LOVES his Ooh La La Mama clothes (he even wore one of their onesies home from the hospital!) Not to mention... how CUTE are these kids? It was a lot of fun chasing these guys around yesterday. :) Here are a few more images from the photo shoot. This was one of my favorite shirts (if it was in my size, I'd buy it in a second!) A huge thank you to all of these adorable kids and their parents for hanging out yesterday and letting me take photos. Thanks! xoxo, Kimberlee

Ooh La La Mama
Today I had the privilege of shooting for a kid's clothing line called Ooh La La Mama. These are by FAR the coolest kids' clothes I have ever seen! Here's my favorite shot from the day: (more to come soon)...

The Light Will Come
Precursor: This is sort of an introspective post (I love how a blog can turn into a sort of journal for me to look back on) :)
So most of my weekends right now are spent driving back and forth between San Diego and Orange County. Which is a very nice ride, actually; it's pretty quick, and very enjoyable with lots of gorgeous things to look at (like the glistening Pacific ocean!) Have you ever noticed that as you drive by yourself, you have a lot of time to just sit and think? With the crazy pace of life, it's been a wonderful break to sit in a car by myself for a few hours each week. And it may sound a bit strange, but I've actually come to look forward to these little drives. Every time I hop in my car to head to OC, I somehow end up reflecting on life, God, and all sorts of other things. It's quite refreshing- you should try it sometime! Take a drive, put on some fun music, turn your cell phone off, and just take the time to let yourself think and reflect!
My drive up north always takes me past the areas that were affected by the SoCal fires last fall. I still remember that first drive after the fires, when everywhere I looked, it was completely black - charred trees and ash covered the hillsides. Since then, I haven't really noticed the small changes that have taken place, but then today, all of a sudden, it just hit me how much things have changed since then. The hillsides are now green and beautiful, with lush grass springing up and covering the hills like a blanket. And as I took it all in, suddenly I had a picture of what my life has been like over the past year or so. About a year ago, my life was completely burned, no signs of life. Have you even been in a place like that? Where no words can explain the pain, and it seems as though you'll never be ok again? And then slowly, through a process of healing and transformation, one day comes where you're able to look back and realize that what was once ashes is now green! I am so thankful that God has walked with me through a painful season of my life, and that I am now able to look at everything with a new perspective. So to anyone who is going through pain or heartbreak or just a low, sucky season of life... the light will come!
I love the lyrics from this Phil Wickham song:
To the one with the wounded heart
The years fighting have left you scarred
Wait, the light will come
To the one with the distant eyes
All this crying has left you dry
Wait, the light will come
Wait, the light will come
Lift your eyes
The sun has overcome the night
Come alive
As we shine in loves true light

Books & Music
This past week I started slowing down my pace of life just a bit. I took 2 days off and did NO work whatsoever. Let me just say, it was heavenly! I finally started reading a few books again, and it was wonderful to reconnect with something I love doing (but haven't taken the time to do). So here are a few books that are on my bookshelf right now (some recently finished, some are in line to be read next). Velvet Elvis | Blue Like Jazz | Redeeming Love | Rich Dad Poor Dad | Legal Guide for Small Business
And, on another note, as many of you know, working in front of a computer screen all day long can start to get a little tedious. Thankfully I get to work most days w/ some friends up at the Woman Captured office, so we get to chat and laugh as we're imaging photos. For me, as I assume is true for many of you, music is a central component to getting through the day whilst sitting in front of a computer. And so I have to make new playlists constantly. Here are a few songs I just added to the playlist I'm listening to at the moment... (no rhyme or reason to my choices - just a few of the songs I felt like listening to today!)
"New Soul" Yael Naim | "100 Round The Bends" Missy Higgins | "Tymps" Fiona Apple | "Mr. Brightside" The Killers
"Almost Lover" A Fine Frenzy | "Jenny Don't Be Hasty" Paolo Nutini | "Hallelujah" Paramore | "Foolish Friendless Cause" Melissa Vaughan
"Take Me Out" Franz Ferdinand | "In Love With A Girl" Gavin Degraw | "To Zion" Lauryn Hill | "Speeding Cars" Imogen Heap

WPPI
SOOO excited about Vegas! I can't believe how fast this year is flying by - it's already mid-February?! March is just around the corner, and since this is going to be my first time going to WPPI, I'm quite a bit excited! Marissa & I are also doing a boudoir shoot at the KISS house on Las Vegas Blvd, so if you wanna come, check it out HERE! Honestly I'm still incredibly shocked that I'm going to be doing a demo shoot; sometimes I have to pinch myself and ask "is this really happening?" I never would've guessed that our "Boudoir Divas" thing would take off so quickly! It's exciting and yet truthfully, it's also a bit scary at the same time. Just so you know, I don't consider myself an expert by any means (we're all still learning, right?) :) I just LOVE what I do, and hopefully that will show during our shoot!

Be my Valentine!
Now I'm definitely not into the cheesiness of Valentine's Day, with the typical red roses and boxes of chocolate and all that... BUT... Remember the anticipation of Valentine's Day when you were a little kid, on your way to elementary school? Who knew that passing out and receiving little heart-shaped pieces of paper could be so utterly exhilerating!?! :) Such a simple gesture, showing your friends that you appreciate them! So to all of my friends, I hope you know how much I love you! I am so thankful for all of the people who are continually pouring into my life with endless encouragement, laughter, and amazing friendship. So... happy day of red roses, candy hearts, and memories of exchanging little paper Valentines! xoxo, Kimberlee

Helen and David (wedding w/ Jasmine Star!)
What a gorgeous day! Everything about it was just oh-so-beautiful! From the pretty pink roses & the delicate details on Helen's dress, to the dazzling sunlight pouring through the tops of the trees and perfectly lighting the ceremony... it was all just so gorgeous! And, of course, it was such an amazing privilege to be able to shoot this wedding with Jasmine Star! I had such a wonderful time. Thanks again for letting me be there, J*! (See a few of Jasmine's awesome photos of the day on her blog!) And thanks, Helen and David, for letting me help to capture the love you have for each other.
Jasmine Star- "anything for the shot!"
Wondering how Jasmine gets her awesome images? Well... here she is in action!!! (Sorry, Jasmine, couldn't resist!) ;)

Our book is finished!
Oh my goodness, I can't believe it's done! So exciting! I can't even explain how nice it is to be done... to finally see the finished product, after so many months of hard work! Celebrating at our "Book Release Party!" :) CLICK HERE to see more photos from the party!
Outdoor Shoot
Just for fun... while we were shooting on-location for our Boudoir Divas' Workshop, I made Crystal (office manager and good friend) model for me! I think she looks so fierce! Here are some of my favorite shots... (Thanks, C, you're awesome!)

Heinous Photo
This has GOT to be one of the absolute worst pictures ever taken of me! Oh, Jasmine*, I can't believe you posted this one; I'm laughing and yet inwardly CRINGING at the same time! It was SO much fun shooting with you, despite what my facial expression may display in this photo!!! It certainly is a heinous shot... touché. ;)
